Isaiah 57:6–8 — The New International Version (NIV)

The idols among the smooth stones of the ravines are your portion;

indeed, they are your lot.

Yes, to them you have poured out drink offerings

and offered grain offerings.

In view of all this, should I relent?

You have made your bed on a high and lofty hill;

there you went up to offer your sacrifices.

Behind your doors and your doorposts

you have put your pagan symbols.

Forsaking me, you uncovered your bed,

you climbed into it and opened it wide;

you made a pact with those whose beds you love,

and you looked with lust on their naked bodies.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion;

They, they are thy lot:

Even to them hast thou poured a drink offering,

Thou hast offered a meat offering.

Should I receive comfort in these?

Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed:

Even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance:

For thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up;

Thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them;

Thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — New Living Translation (NLT)

Your gods are the smooth stones in the valleys.

You worship them with liquid offerings and grain offerings.

They, not I, are your inheritance.

Do you think all this makes me happy?

You have committed adultery on every high mountain.

There you have worshiped idols

and have been unfaithful to me.

You have put pagan symbols

on your doorposts and behind your doors.

You have left me

and climbed into bed with these detestable gods.

You have committed yourselves to them.

You love to look at their naked bodies.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Among the smooth stones of the stream

Is your portion;

They, they, are your lot!

Even to them you have poured a drink offering,

You have offered a grain offering.

Should I receive comfort in these?

“On a lofty and high mountain

You have set your bed;

Even there you went up

To offer sacrifice.

Also behind the doors and their posts

You have set up your remembrance;

For you have uncovered yourself to those other than Me,

And have gone up to them;

You have enlarged your bed

And made a covenant with them;

You have loved their bed,

Where you saw their nudity.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — New Century Version (NCV)

You take the smooth rocks from the ravines

as your portion.

You pour drink offerings on them to worship them,

and you give grain offerings to them.

Do you think this makes me want to show you mercy?

You make your bed on every hill and mountain,

and there you offer sacrifices.

You have hidden your idols

behind your doors and doorposts.

You have left me, and you have uncovered yourself.

You have pulled back the covers and climbed into bed.

You have made an agreement with those whose beds you love,

and you have looked at their nakedness.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Among the smooth stones of the valley is thy portion; they, they are thy lot; even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered an oblation. Shall I be appeased for these things? Upon a high and lofty mountain hast thou set thy bed; thither also wentest thou up to offer sacrifice. And behind the doors and the posts hast thou set up thy memorial: for thou hast uncovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them: thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Among the smooth stones of the torrent is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured out a drink-offering, thou hast offered an oblation. Shall I be comforted myself as to these things? Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither didst thou go up to offer sacrifice. Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for apart from me, thou hast uncovered thyself, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and hast made agreement with them; thou lovedst their bed, thou sawest their nakedness.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Your idols are among the smooth stones in the ravine.

They are your destiny.

You have given them wine offerings

and sacrificed grain offerings to them.

Do you think I am pleased with all this?

You’ve made your bed on a high and lofty mountain.

You’ve gone to offer sacrifices there.

You’ve set up your idols beside doors and doorposts.

You’ve uncovered yourself to the idols.

You’ve distanced yourself from me.

You’ve made your bed with them.

You’ve made a deal with those you have pleasure with in bed.

You’ve seen them naked.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Your portion is among the smooth stones of the wadi;

indeed, they are your lot.

You have even poured out a drink offering to them;

you have offered a grain offering;

should I be satisfied with these?

You have placed your bed

on a high and lofty mountain;

you also went up there to offer sacrifice.

You have set up your memorial

behind the door and doorpost.

For away from Me, you stripped,

went up, and made your bed wide,

and you have made a bargain for yourself with them.

You have loved their bed;

you have gazed on their genitals.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion;

they, they, are your lot;

to them you have poured out a drink offering,

you have brought a grain offering.

Shall I be appeased for these things?

Upon a high and lofty mountain

you have set your bed,

and there you went up to offer sacrifice.

Behind the door and the doorpost

you have set up your symbol;

for, in deserting me, you have uncovered your bed,

you have gone up to it,

you have made it wide;

and you have made a bargain for yourself with them,

you have loved their bed,

you have gazed on their nakedness.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Your portion is among the smooth stones of the valley;

they, they are your lot;

indeed, to them you have poured out a drink offering,

you have brought a food offering.

Shall I relent concerning these things?

You have set your bed upon a high and lofty mountain;

indeed, you went up there to slaughter sacrifice.

And you have set your symbol behind the door and the doorpost;

for you depart from me, and you go up;

you make your bed wide, and you make a deal with them,

you have loved their bed; you have seen their genitals.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

You have chosen some of the smooth stones in the valleys to be your gods.

You have joined yourselves to them.

You have even poured out drink offerings to them.

You have given grain offerings to them.

So why should I take pity on you?

You have made your bed to have sex on a very high hill.

You went up there to offer your sacrifices.

You have set up statues to remind you of your gods.

You have put them behind your doors and doorposts.

You deserted me. You invited other lovers into your bed.

You climbed into it and welcomed them.

You made a deal with them.

And you looked at their naked bodies.

Isaiah 57:6–8 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

“Among the smooth stones of the ravine

Is your portion, they are your lot;

Even to them you have poured out a drink offering,

You have made a grain offering.

Shall I relent concerning these things?

“Upon a high and lofty mountain

You have made your bed.

You also went up there to offer sacrifice.

Behind the door and the doorpost

You have set up your sign;

Indeed, far removed from Me, you have uncovered yourself,

And have gone up and made your bed wide.

And you have made an agreement for yourself with them,

You have loved their bed,

You have looked on their manhood.
