Isaiah 11:13–15

13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish,

and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed;

Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah,

nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.

14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west;

together they will plunder the people to the east.

They will subdue Edom and Moab,

and the Ammonites will be subject to them.

15 The Lord will dry up

the gulf of the Egyptian sea;

with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand

over the Euphrates River.

He will break it up into seven streams

so that anyone can cross over in sandals.

13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart,

And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off:

Ephraim shall not envy Judah,

And Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west;

They shall spoil them of the east together:

They shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab;

And the children of Ammon shall obey them.

15 And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea;

And with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river,

And shall smite it in the seven streams,

And make men go over dryshod.

13 Then at last the jealousy between Israel and Judah will end.

They will not be rivals anymore.

14 They will join forces to swoop down on Philistia to the west.

Together they will attack and plunder the nations to the east.

They will occupy the lands of Edom and Moab,

and Ammon will obey them.

15 The Lord will make a dry path through the gulf of the Red Sea.

He will wave his hand over the Euphrates River,

sending a mighty wind to divide it into seven streams

so it can easily be crossed on foot.

13 Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart,

And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off;

Ephraim shall not envy Judah,

And Judah shall not harass Ephraim.

14 But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west;

Together they shall plunder the people of the East;

They shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab;

And the people of Ammon shall obey them.

15 The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt;

With His mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River,

And strike it in the seven streams,

And make men cross over dryshod.

13 At that time Israel will not be jealous anymore,

and Judah will have no more enemies.

Israel will not be jealous of Judah,

and Judah will not hate Israel.

14 But Israel and Judah will attack the Philistines on the west.

Together they will take the riches from the people of the east.

They will conquer Edom and Moab,

and the people of Ammon will be under their control.

15 The Lord will dry up

the Red Sea of Egypt.

He will wave his arm over the Euphrates River

and dry it up with a scorching wind.

He will divide it into seven small rivers

so that people can walk across them with their sandals on.

13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and they that vex Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. 14 And they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines on the west; together shall they despoil the children of the east: they shall put forth their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. 15 And Jehovah will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind will he wave his hand over the River, and will smite it into seven streams, and cause men to march over dryshod.

13 And the envy of Ephraim shall depart, and the troublers of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not trouble Ephraim: 14 but they shall fly upon the shoulder of the Philistines towards the west; together shall they spoil the sons of the east; they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon shall obey them. 15 And Jehovah will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind will he shake his hand over the river, and will smite it into seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.

13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, 

and Judah’s opponents will come to an end. 

Ephraim won’t be jealous of Judah, 

and Judah won’t oppose Ephraim. 

14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia in the west. 

Together they will loot the people of the east. 

They will conquer Edom and Moab. 

The people of Ammon will be subject to them. 

15 The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian Sea. 

He will wave his hand over the Euphrates River with his scorching wind 

and divide it into seven streams 

so that people can walk over it in their sandals. 

13 Ephraim’s envy will cease;

Judah’s harassment will end.

Ephraim will no longer be envious of Judah,

and Judah will not harass Ephraim.

14 But they will swoop down

on the Philistine flank to the west.

Together they will plunder the people of the east.

They will extend their power over Edom and Moab,

and the Ammonites will be their subjects.

15 The Lord will divide the Gulf of Suez.

He will wave His hand over the Euphrates

with His mighty wind

and will split it into seven streams,

letting people walk through on foot.

13 The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart;

the hostility of Judah shall be cut off;

Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,

and Judah shall not be hostile toward Ephraim.

14 But they shall swoop down on the backs of the Philistines in the west;

together they shall plunder the people of the east.

They shall put forth their hand against Edom and Moab,

and the Ammonites shall obey them.

15 And the Lord will dry up

the tongue of the sea of Egypt

and will wave his hand over the River

with his scorching wind

and will split it into seven channels

and make a way to cross on foot;

13 And the jealousy of Ephraim shall depart,

and the enemies of Judah shall be cut off.

Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,

and Judah shall not be an enemy of Ephraim.

14 But they shall swoop upon the Philistine shoulder, westward.

Together they shall plunder the sons of the east.

Edom and Moab will be under their command,

and the sons of Ammon will be their subjugated people.

15 And Yahweh will divide the tongue of the sea of Egypt,

and he will wave his hand over the river with his scorching wind;

and he will strike it into seven streams,

and he will make it passable by foot.

13 Ephraim’s people won’t be jealous anymore.

Judah’s attackers will be cut off.

Ephraim won’t be jealous of Judah.

And Judah won’t attack Ephraim.

14 Together they will rush down the slopes of Philistia to the west.

They’ll take what belongs to the people of the east.

They’ll take over Edom and Moab.

The people of Ammon will be under their control.

15 The Lord will dry up

the Red Sea in Egypt.

With his powerful hand he’ll send a burning wind

to sweep over the Euphrates River.

He will break it up into many streams.

Then people will be able to go across it wearing sandals.

13 Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart,

And those who harass Judah will be cut off;

Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah,

And Judah will not harass Ephraim.

14 They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines on the west;

Together they will plunder the sons of the east;

They will possess Edom and Moab,

And the sons of Ammon will be subject to them.

15 And the Lord will utterly destroy

The tongue of the Sea of Egypt;

And He will wave His hand over the River

With His scorching wind;

And He will strike it into seven streams

And make men walk over dry-shod.
