Ezekiel 30:13–17

13 “ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘I will destroy the idols

and put an end to the images in Memphis.

No longer will there be a prince in Egypt,

and I will spread fear throughout the land.

14 I will lay waste Upper Egypt,

set fire to Zoan

and inflict punishment on Thebes.

15 I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium,

the stronghold of Egypt,

and wipe out the hordes of Thebes.

16 I will set fire to Egypt;

Pelusium will writhe in agony.

Thebes will be taken by storm;

Memphis will be in constant distress.

17 The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis

will fall by the sword,

and the cities themselves will go into captivity.

13 Thus saith the Lord God; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. 14 And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No. 15 And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. 16 And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. 17 The young men of Aven and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity.

13 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

I will smash the idols of Egypt

and the images at Memphis.

There will be no rulers left in Egypt;

terror will sweep the land.

14 I will destroy southern Egypt,

set fire to Zoan,

and bring judgment against Thebes.

15 I will pour out my fury on Pelusium,

the strongest fortress of Egypt,

and I will stamp out

the hordes of Thebes.

16 Yes, I will set fire to all Egypt!

Pelusium will be racked with pain;

Thebes will be torn apart;

Memphis will live in constant terror.

17 The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will die in battle,

and the women will be taken away as slaves.

13 ‘Thus says the Lord God:

“I will also destroy the idols,

And cause the images to cease from Noph;

There shall no longer be princes from the land of Egypt;

I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 I will make Pathros desolate,

Set fire to Zoan,

And execute judgments in No.

15 I will pour My fury on Sin, the strength of Egypt;

I will cut off the multitude of No,

16 And set a fire in Egypt;

Sin shall have great pain,

No shall be split open,

And Noph shall be in distress daily.

17 The young men of Aven and Pi Beseth shall fall by the sword,

And these cities shall go into captivity.

13 “ ‘This is what the Lord God says:

I will destroy the idols

and take away the statues of gods from the city of Memphis.

There will no longer be a leader in Egypt,

and I will spread fear through the land of Egypt.

14 I will make southern Egypt empty

and start a fire in Zoan

and punish Thebes.

15 And I will pour out my anger against Pelusium,

the strong place of Egypt.

I will destroy great numbers of people in Thebes.

16 I will set fire to Egypt.

Pelusium will be in great pain.

The walls of Thebes will be broken open,

and Memphis will have troubles every day.

17 The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis

will fall dead in war,

and the people will be taken away as captives.

13 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis; and there shall be no more a prince from the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. 14 And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments upon No. 15 And I will pour my wrath upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. 16 And I will set a fire in Egypt: Sin shall be in great anguish, and No shall be broken up; and Memphis shall have adversaries in the day-time. 17 The young men of Aven and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword; and these cities shall go into captivity.

13 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince out of the land of Egypt; and I will put fear in the land of Egypt. 14 And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgment in No. 15 And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. 16 And I will set a fire in Egypt: Sin shall be in great anguish, and No shall be rent asunder, and at Noph there shall be enemies in open day. 17 The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword; and these shall go into captivity.

13 “ ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: I will destroy the statues and put an end to the idols in Memphis. A prince will never rise again in Egypt. I will spread fear throughout Egypt. 14 I will destroy Pathros, set fire to Zoan, and bring punishment on Thebes. 15 I will pour out my fury on Sin, Egypt’s fortress, and I will kill many people in Thebes. 16 I will set fire to Egypt. Sin will be in much pain. Thebes will be broken into pieces, and Memphis will be in trouble every day. 17 The young men from Heliopolis and Bubastis will die in battle, and people from these cities will go into exile.

13 This is what the Lord God says:

I will destroy the idols and put an end

to the false gods in Memphis.

There will no longer be

a prince from the land of Egypt.

So I will instill fear in that land.

14 I will make Pathros desolate,

set fire to Zoan,

and execute judgments on Thebes.

15 I will pour out My wrath on Pelusium,

the stronghold of Egypt,

and will wipe out the crowds of Thebes.

16 I will set fire to Egypt;

Pelusium will writhe in anguish,

Thebes will be breached,

and Memphis will face foes in broad daylight.

17 The young men of On and Pi-beseth

will fall by the sword,

and those cities will go into captivity.

13 Thus says the Lord God:

I will destroy the idols

and put an end to the images in Memphis;

there shall no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt,

so I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 I will make Pathros a desolation

and will set fire to Zoan

and will execute acts of judgment on Thebes.

15 I will pour my wrath upon Pelusium,

the stronghold of Egypt,

and will cut off the hordes of Thebes.

16 I will set fire to Egypt;

Pelusium shall be in great agony;

Thebes shall be breached

and Memphis face adversaries by day.

17 The young men of On and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword,

and the cities themselves shall go into captivity.

13 Thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“And I will destroy the idols,

and I will put an end to the worthless idols from Memphis.

And there will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt,

and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 And I will lay waste Pathros,

and I will set fire in Zoan,

and I will execute judgments in No.

15 I will pour out my rage over Sin,

the stronghold of Egypt,

and I will cut off the crowd of No.

16 And I will set fire in Egypt,

certainly Sin will writhe,

and No will be breached,

and Memphis will face enemies daily.

17 The young men of On and Pi Beseth will fall by the sword,

and they will go into captivity.

13 The Lord and King says,

“I will destroy the statues of Egypt’s gods.

I will put an end to the gods

the people in Memphis worship.

Egypt will not have princes anymore.

I will spread fear all through the land.

14 I will completely destroy Upper Egypt.

I will set Zoan on fire.

I will punish Thebes.

15 I will pour out my burning anger on Pelusium.

It is a fort in eastern Egypt.

I will cut off the huge army of Thebes.

16 I will set Egypt on fire.

Pelusium will groan with terrible pain.

Thebes will be ripped apart.

Memphis will suffer greatly

because of everything that happens.

17 The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis

will be killed with swords.

Their people will be taken away as prisoners.

13 ‘Thus says the Lord God,

“I will also destroy the idols

And make the images cease from Memphis.

And there will no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt;

And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 “I will make Pathros desolate,

Set a fire in Zoan

And execute judgments on Thebes.

15 “I will pour out My wrath on Sin,

The stronghold of Egypt;

I will also cut off the hordes of Thebes.

16 “I will set a fire in Egypt;

Sin will writhe in anguish,

Thebes will be breached

And Memphis will have distresses daily.

17 “The young men of On and of Pi-beseth

Will fall by the sword,

And the women will go into captivity.
