Deuteronomy 2:31–35

31 And the Lord said to me, ‘Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land over to you. Begin to take possession, that you may occupy his land.’ 32 Then wSihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz. 33 And xthe Lord our God gave him over to us, and ywe defeated him and his sons and all his people. 34 And we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction2 every zcity, men, women, and children. We left no survivors. 35 Only the livestock we took as spoil for ourselves, with the plunder of the cities that we captured.

Deuteronomy 2:31–35 — The New International Version (NIV)

31 The Lord said to me, “See, I have begun to deliver Sihon and his country over to you. Now begin to conquer and possess his land.”

32 When Sihon and all his army came out to meet us in battle at Jahaz, 33 the Lord our God delivered him over to us and we struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army. 34 At that time we took all his towns and completely destroyed them—men, women and children. We left no survivors. 35 But the livestock and the plunder from the towns we had captured we carried off for ourselves.
