8 “Will not the land tremble for this,

and all who live in it mourn?

The whole land will rise like the Nile;

it will be stirred up and then sink

like the river of Egypt.

9 “In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord,

“I will make the sun go down at noon

and darken the earth in broad daylight.

8 Shall not the land tremble for this,

And every one mourn that dwelleth therein?

And it shall rise up wholly as a flood;

And it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God,

That I will cause the sun to go down at noon,

And I will darken the earth in the clear day:

8 The earth will tremble for your deeds,

and everyone will mourn.

The ground will rise like the Nile River at floodtime;

it will heave up, then sink again.

9 “In that day,” says the Sovereign Lord,

“I will make the sun go down at noon

and darken the earth while it is still day.

8 Shall the land not tremble for this,

And everyone mourn who dwells in it?

All of it shall swell like the River,

Heave and subside

Like the River of Egypt.

9 “And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God,

“That I will make the sun go down at noon,

And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;

8 The whole land will shake because of it,

and everyone who lives in the land will cry for those who died.

The whole land will rise like the Nile;

it will be shaken, and then it will fall

like the Nile River in Egypt.”

9 The Lord God says:

“At that time I will cause the sun to go down at noon

and make the earth dark on a bright day.

8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? yea, it shall rise up wholly like the River; and it shall be troubled and sink again, like the River of Egypt. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord Jehovah, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? And it shall wholly rise up like the Nile; and it shall surge and sink down, as the river of Egypt. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord Jehovah, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the land in the clear day.

8 The land will tremble because of this. 

Everyone who lives in it will mourn. 

The entire land will rise like the Nile, 

be tossed about, and then sink like Egypt’s river. 

9 On that day, declares the Almighty Lord, 

I will make the sun go down at noon 

and darken the earth in broad daylight. 

8 Because of this, won’t the land quake

and all who dwell in it mourn?

All of it will rise like the Nile;

it will surge and then subside

like the Nile in Egypt.

9 And in that day—

this is the declaration of the Lord God—

I will make the sun go down at noon;

I will darken the land in the daytime.

8 Shall not the land tremble on this account,

and everyone mourn who lives in it,

and all of it rise like the Nile,

and be tossed about and sink again, like the Nile of Egypt?

9 On that day, says the Lord God,

I will make the sun go down at noon,

and darken the earth in broad daylight.

8 On account of this, will not the land tremble and will not every living thing in it mourn? And all of it will rise like the Nile and it will be tossed about and subside like the Nile of Egypt. 9 And then in that day,” declares my Lord Yahweh, “I will make the sun go down at noon and I will darken the land on a day of light.

8 “The land will tremble because of what will happen.

Everyone who lives in it will sob.

So the whole land will rise like the Nile River.

It will be stirred up.

Then it will settle back down again

like that river in Egypt.”

9 The Lord and King announces,

“At that time I will make the sun go down at noon.

The earth will become dark in the middle of the day.

8 “Because of this will not the land quake

And everyone who dwells in it mourn?

Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile,

And it will be tossed about

And subside like the Nile of Egypt.

9 “It will come about in that day,” declares the Lord God,

“That I will make the sun go down at noon

And make the earth dark in broad daylight.
