1 This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Moab,

even for four, I will not relent.

Because he burned to ashes

the bones of Edom’s king,

2 I will send fire on Moab

that will consume the fortresses of Kerioth.

Moab will go down in great tumult

amid war cries and the blast of the trumpet.

3 I will destroy her ruler

and kill all her officials with him,”

says the Lord.

1 Thus saith the Lord;

For three transgressions of Moab,

And for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof;

Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:

2 But I will send a fire upon Moab,

And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth:

And Moab shall die with tumult,

With shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof,

And will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the Lord.

and I will not let them go unpunished!

They desecrated the bones of Edom’s king,

burning them to ashes.

2 So I will send down fire on the land of Moab,

and all the fortresses in Kerioth will be destroyed.

The people will fall in the noise of battle,

as the warriors shout and the ram’s horn sounds.

3 And I will destroy their king

and slaughter all their princes,”

says the Lord.

I will not turn away its punishment,

Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

2 But I will send a fire upon Moab,

And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth;

Moab shall die with tumult,

With shouting and trumpet sound.

3 And I will cut off the judge from its midst,

And slay all its princes with him,”

Says the Lord.

“For the many crimes of Moab,

I will punish them.

They burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.

2 So I will send fire on Moab

that will destroy the strong buildings of the city of Kerioth.

The people of Moab will die in a great noise,

in the middle of the sounds of war and trumpets.

3 So I will bring an end to the king of Moab,

and I will kill all its leaders with him,” says the Lord.

1 Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime. 2 And I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerijoth; and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith Jehovah.

1 This is what the Lord says: 

Because Moab has committed three crimes, and now a fourth crime, 

I will not change my plans. 

The Moabites have cremated Edom’s king. 

2 I will send a fire on Moab 

and burn down the palaces of Kerioth. 

Moab will die during the noise of battle 

while troops are shouting and rams’ horns are blowing. 

3 I will take their judges away from them. 

I will kill all their officials at the same time. 

The Lord has said this.

because he burned the bones

of the king of Edom to lime.

2 Therefore, I will send fire against Moab,

and it will consume the citadels of Kerioth.

Moab will die with a tumult,

with shouting and the sound of the ram’s horn.

3 I will cut off the judge from the land

and kill all its officials with him.

The Lord has spoken.

1 Thus says the Lord:

For three transgressions of Moab,

and for four, I will not revoke the punishment;

because he burned to lime

the bones of the king of Edom.

2 So I will send a fire on Moab,

and it shall devour the strongholds of Kerioth,

and Moab shall die amid uproar,

amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet;

3 I will cut off the ruler from its midst,

and will kill all its officials with him,

says the Lord.

1 Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Moab and for four I will not revoke the punishment, because he burned to lime the bones of the king of Edom. 2 So I will send a fire against Moab and it will devour the citadel fortresses of Kerioth, and Moab will die amid uproar, amid war cries and amid the sound of a horn. 3 And I will cut off the ruler from its midst and I will kill all of its officials with him,” says Yahweh.

1 The Lord says,

“The people of Moab have sinned again and again.

So I will punish them.

They burned the bones

of Edom’s king to ashes.

2 So I will send fire to destroy Moab.

It will burn up Kerioth’s forts.

Moab will come crashing down with a loud noise.

War cries will be heard.

So will the blast of trumpets.

3 I will cut off Moab’s ruler.

I will also kill all of its officials,”

says the Lord.
