2 Corinthians 1:14–15

14 as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you first so that you might benefit twice.

14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus. 15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

14 even if you don’t understand us now. Then on the day when the Lord Jesus returns, you will be proud of us in the same way we are proud of you.

15 Since I was so sure of your understanding and trust, I wanted to give you a double blessing by visiting you twice—

14 (as also you have understood us in part), that we are your boast as you also are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 And in this confidence I intended to come to you before, that you might have a second benefit—

15 I was so sure of all this that I made plans to visit you first so you could be blessed twice.

14 as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;

14 even as also ye have recognised us in part, that we are your boast, even as ye are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 And with this confidence I purposed to come to you previously, that ye might have a second favour;

14 even though you now understand it only partially. We are your reason to be proud, as you will be our reason to be proud on the day of our Lord Jesus. 

15 Confident of this, I had previously wanted to visit you so that you could benefit twice.

14 as you have partially understood us—that we are your reason for pride, as you are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 I planned with this confidence to come to you first, so you could have a double benefit,

14 as you have already understood us in part—that on the day of the Lord Jesus we are your boast even as you are our boast.

15 Since I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a double favor;

14 just as you have also understood us in part, that we are your reason for boasting, just as you are also ours in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 And with this confidence, I was wanting to come to you previously, in order that you may have a second proof of my goodwill,

14 Up to this point you have understood some of the things we have said. But now I hope that someday you will be able to take pride in us, just as we will take pride in you on the day the Lord Jesus returns. When you are able to do that, you will understand us completely.

15 I was sure of those things. So I planned to visit you first. Here is how I thought you would be helped twice.

14 just as you also partially did understand us, that we are your reason to be proud as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 In this confidence I intended at first to come to you, so that you might twice receive a blessing;
