2 Corinthians 6:17–7:3

17 Therefore,

“Come out from them

and be separate,

says the Lord.

Touch no unclean thing,

and I will receive you.”

18 And,

“I will be a Father to you,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

1 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

2 Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one. 3 I do not say this to condemn you; I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts that we would live or die with you.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man. 3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,

and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.

Don’t touch their filthy things,

and I will welcome you.

18 And I will be your Father,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

1 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.

2 Please open your hearts to us. We have not done wrong to anyone, nor led anyone astray, nor taken advantage of anyone. 3 I’m not saying this to condemn you. I said before that you are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you.

17 Therefore

18 “I will be a Father to you,

and you shall be My sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one. 3 I do not say this to condemn; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.

17 “Leave those people,

and be separate, says the Lord.

Touch nothing that is unclean,

and I will accept you.”

18 “I will be your father,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

1 Dear friends, we have these promises from God, so we should make ourselves pure—free from anything that makes body or soul unclean. We should try to become holy in the way we live, because we respect God.

2 Open your hearts to us. We have not done wrong to anyone, we have not ruined the faith of anyone, and we have not cheated anyone. 3 I do not say this to blame you. I told you before that we love you so much we would live or die with you.

17 Wherefore

And ye shall be to me sons and daughters,

saith the Lord Almighty.

17 Wherefore come out from the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and touch not what is unclean, and I will receive you; 18 and I will be to you for a Father, and ye shall be to me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear. 2 Receive us: we have injured no one, we have ruined no one, we have made gain of no one. 3 I do not speak for condemnation, for I have already said that ye are in our hearts, to die together, and live together.

17 The Lord says, “Get away from unbelievers. 

Separate yourselves from them. 

Have nothing to do with anything unclean.

Then I will welcome you.” 

18 The Lord Almighty says, “I will be your Father, 

and you will be my sons and daughters.” 

1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, we need to cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit and live a holy life in the fear of God. 

2 Open your hearts to us. We haven’t treated anyone unjustly, ruined anyone, or cheated anyone. 3 I’m not saying this to condemn you. I’ve already told you that you are in our hearts so that we will live and die together.

17 Therefore, come out from among them

and be separate, says the Lord;

do not touch any unclean thing,

and I will welcome you.

18 I will be a Father to you,

and you will be sons and daughters to Me,

says the Lord Almighty.

1 Therefore, dear friends, since we have such promises, let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit, completing our sanctification in the fear of God.

2 Accept us. We have wronged no one, corrupted no one, defrauded no one. 3 I don’t say this to condemn you, for I have already said that you are in our hearts, to live together and to die together.

17 Therefore come out from them,

and be separate from them, says the Lord,

and touch nothing unclean;

then I will welcome you,

18 and I will be your father,

and you shall be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

“and do not touch what is unclean,

and I will welcome you,

18 and I will be a father to you,

and you will be sons and daughters to me,”

says the all-powerful Lord.

1 Therefore since we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of body and spirit, accomplishing holiness in the fear of God. 2 Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have ruined no one, we have defrauded no one. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, because I have already said that you are in our hearts, so that we die together and we live together.

17 “So come out from among them

and be separate,

says the Lord.

Do not touch anything that is not pure and clean.

Then I will receive you.”

18 “I will be your Father.

You will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord who rules over all.”

1 Dear friends, we have these promises from God. So let us make ourselves pure from everything that pollutes our bodies and spirits. Let us be completely holy. We want to honor God.

2 Make room for us in your hearts. We haven’t done anything wrong to anyone. We haven’t caused anyone to sin. We haven’t taken advantage of anyone.

3 I don’t say this to judge you. I have told you before that you have an important place in our hearts. We would live or die with you.

17 “Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.

18 “And I will be a father to you,

And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”

Says the Lord Almighty.
