1 Chronicles 2:4–9

4 Judah’s daughter-in-law Tamar bore Perez and Zerah to Judah. He had five sons in all.

5 The sons of Perez:

Hezron and Hamul.

6 The sons of Zerah:

Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol and Darda—five in all.

7 The son of Karmi:

Achar, who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.

8 The son of Ethan:

Azariah.

9 The sons born to Hezron were:

Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.

4 And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five. 5 The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.

6 And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all. 7 And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed. 8 And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.

9 The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

4 Later Judah had twin sons from Tamar, his widowed daughter-in-law. Their names were Perez and Zerah. So Judah had five sons in all.

5 The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

6 The sons of Zerah were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Darda—five in all.

7 The son of Carmi (a descendant of Zimri) was Achan, who brought disaster on Israel by taking plunder that had been set apart for the Lord.

8 The son of Ethan was Azariah.

9 The sons of Hezron were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.

5 The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerah were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—five of them in all.

7 The son of Carmi was Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the accursed thing.

8 The son of Ethan was Azariah.

9 Also the sons of Hezron who were born to him were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

5 Perez’s sons were Hezron and Hamul.

6 Zerah had five sons: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Darda.

7 Carmi’s son was Achan, who caused trouble for Israel because he took things that had been given to the Lord to be destroyed.

8 Ethan’s son was Azariah.

9 Hezron’s sons were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.

All the sons of Judah were five. 5 The sons of Pherez: Hezron and Hamul. 6 And the sons of Zerah: Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all. 7 And the sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the accursed thing. 8 And the sons of Ethan: Azariah. 9 And the sons of Hezron, who were born to him: Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

9 The sons born to Hezron were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

9 The sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.

4 Tamar was Judah’s daughter-in-law. She had Perez and Zerah by him. The total number of Judah’s sons was five.

5 The sons of Perez were

Hezron and Hamul.

6 The sons of Zerah were

Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol and Darda. The total number of Zerah’s sons was five.

7 The son of Carmi was Achar.

He brought trouble on Israel. He took some of the things that had been set apart to the Lord in a special way to be destroyed. When he did that, he disobeyed the Lord’s command.

8 The son of Ethan was

Azariah.

9 Hezron was the father of

Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.
