35 By the word of the Lord one of the company of the prophets said to his companion, “Strike me with your weapon,” but he refused.

35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the Lord, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

35 Meanwhile, the Lord instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, “Hit me!” But the man refused to hit the prophet.

35 There was a group that was called the company of the prophets. A message from the Lord came to one of their members. He said to his companion, “Strike me down with your weapon.” But the man wouldn’t do it.
