1 John 5:2–4

nBy this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For othis is the love of God, that we pkeep his commandments. And qhis commandments are not burdensome. For reveryone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—sour faith.

1 John 5:2–4 — The New International Version (NIV)

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

How do we know that we love God’s children? We know it when we love God and obey his commands. Here is what it means to love God. It means that we obey his commands.
