1 Chronicles 23:25–27

25 For David had said, “Since the Lord, the God of Israel, has granted rest to his people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem forever, 26 the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the articles used in its service.” 27 According to the last instructions of David, the Levites were counted from those twenty years old or more.

25 For David said, The Lord God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever: 26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof. 27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

25 For David said, “The Lord, the God of Israel, has given us peace, and he will always live in Jerusalem. 26 Now the Levites will no longer need to carry the Tabernacle and its furnishings from place to place.” 27 In accordance with David’s final instructions, all the Levites twenty years old or older were registered for service.

25 For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever”; 26 and also to the Levites, “They shall no longer carry the tabernacle, or any of the articles for its service.” 27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above;

25 David had said, “The Lord, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people. He has come to live in Jerusalem forever. 26 So the Levites don’t need to carry the Holy Tent or any of the things used in its services anymore.” 27 David’s last instructions were to count the Levites who were twenty years old and older.

25 For David said, Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath given rest unto his people; and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for ever: 26 and also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service thereof. 27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.

25 For David said, Jehovah the God of Israel has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem for ever; 26 and the Levites also have no more to carry the tabernacle, nor any of its vessels for its service. 27 For by the last words of David was this done, —the numbering of the sons of Levi from twenty years old and upward.

25 David had said, “The Lord God of Israel has given his people rest. He will now live in Jerusalem forever. 26 The Levites will no longer have to carry the tent and all the utensils used in worship.” 

27 David’s last instructions were to count the Levites who were at least 20 years old.

25 For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He has come to stay in Jerusalem forever. 26 Also, the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the equipment for its service” — 27 for according to the last words of David, the Levites 20 years old or more were to be counted—

25 For David said, “The Lord, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he resides in Jerusalem forever. 26 And so the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the things for its service”—27 for according to the last words of David these were the number of the Levites from twenty years old and up—

25 For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he dwells in Jerusalem forever. 26 And also, the Levites do not need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.” 27 For by the last words of David, they are the number of the sons of Levi, from twenty years old and above.

25 David had said, “The Lord is the God of Israel. He has given peace and rest to his people. He has come to Jerusalem to live there forever. 26 So the Levites don’t need to carry the holy tent anymore. They don’t need to carry any of its articles anymore. Those were the articles that were used to serve there.”

27 The Levites who were 20 years old or more were counted. That was in keeping with David’s final directions.

25 For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever.

26 “Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.”

27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered from twenty years old and upward.
