Isaiah 22:6–8

6 Elam takes up the quiver,

with her charioteers and horses;

Kir uncovers the shield.

7 Your choicest valleys are full of chariots,

and horsemen are posted at the city gates.

8 The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah,

and you looked in that day

to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest.

6 And Elam bore the quiver

with chariots and horsemen,

and Kir uncovered the shield.

7 Your choicest valleys were full of chariots,

and the horsemen took their stand at the gates.

8 He has taken away the covering of Judah.

In that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest,

6 And Elam bare the quiver

With chariots of men and horsemen,

And Kir uncovered the shield.

7 And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots,

And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8 And he discovered the covering of Judah,

And thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.

6 Elamites are the archers,

with their chariots and charioteers.

The men of Kir hold up the shields.

7 Chariots fill your beautiful valleys,

and charioteers storm your gates.

8 Judah’s defenses have been stripped away.

You run to the armory for your weapons.

6 Elam bore the quiver

With chariots of men and horsemen,

And Kir uncovered the shield.

7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys

Shall be full of chariots,

And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8 He removed the protection of Judah.

You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest;

6 The soldiers from Elam will gather their arrows

and their chariots and men on horses.

Kir will prepare their shields.

7 Your nicest valleys will be filled with chariots.

Horsemen will be ordered to guard the gates of the city.

8 The walls protecting Judah will fall.

At that time the people of Jerusalem depended on

the weapons kept at the Palace of the Forest.

6 And Elam bare the quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield. 7 And it came to pass, that thy choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate. 8 And he took away the covering of Judah; and thou didst look in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

6 —Elam beareth the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovereth the shield. 7 And it shall come to pass that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

8 And he uncovereth the covering of Judah: and thou didst look in that day to the armour in the house of the forest;

manned chariots, and horsemen. 

Kir uncovers its shields. 

7 Then your fertile valleys will be filled with chariots, 

and horsemen will stand ready in front of the gate. 

8 On that day the Lord will remove the defenses of Judah. 

You will look for weapons in the House of the Forest.

and horsemen were positioned at the gates.

8 He removed the defenses of Judah.

On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest.

6 Elam bore the quiver

with chariots and cavalry,

and Kir uncovered the shield.

7 Your choicest valleys were full of chariots,

and the cavalry took their stand at the gates.

8 He has taken away the covering of Judah.

On that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest,

6 And Elam lifted up the quiver,

with chariots of men and cavalry.

And Kir uncovered the shield.

7 And this happened:

the choicest of your valleys were full of chariots,

and the cavalry confidently stood at the gate.

8 And he uncovered the covering of Judah.

And you looked, on that day, to the weapons of the House of the Forest,

6 Soldiers from Elam came armed with bows and arrows.

They came with their chariots and horses.

Soldiers from Kir got their shields ready.

7 Your rich valleys filled up with chariots.

Horsemen took up their battle positions at your city gates.

8 Judah wasn’t a safe place to live in anymore.

When all of that happened, you depended

on the weapons in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

6 Elam took up the quiver

With the chariots, infantry and horsemen;

And Kir uncovered the shield.

7 Then your choicest valleys were full of chariots,

And the horsemen took up fixed positions at the gate.

8 And He removed the defense of Judah.

In that day you depended on the weapons of the house of the forest,
