55 They hurried throughout that region and began to carry the sickk on mats to wherever they heard he was. 56 Wherever he went, into villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch just the endl of his robe.m And everyone who touched it was healed.

7 Then Phariseeso and some of the scribesp who had come from Jerusalemq gathered around him. 2 They observed that some of his disciples were eating bread with uncleanr—that is, unwashed—hands. 3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, keeping the tradition of the elders.
