Sirach 6:8–12

For there is a friend ⁽who is so⁽ according to occasion,

And continueth not in the day of affliction;

And there is a friend that turneth to an enemy,

And he revealeth strife to thy reproach.

And there is a friend who is a table-friend,

But he is not to be found in the day of affliction.

When thou art in prosperity he will be like thee,

And will lord it over thy servants.

If evil overtake thee he will turn against thee,

And will hide himself from thee.
