Mira, estos son los malvados:
viven en paz y atesoran riqueza.
¿De qué me vale purificar mi corazón,
lavar mis manos en señal de inocencia,
si cada día soy golpeado,
castigado cada mañana?
Si dijese: “Hablaré como ellos”,
traicionaría al linaje de tus hijos.
Yo medité tratando de entenderlo
y fue para mí una dura tarea,
hasta que llegué al santuario de Dios
y comprendí entonces su destino.
Porque en verdad tú los colocas
sobre una pendiente resbaladiza,
los empujas a la ruina.
¡Qué pronto son destruidos,
perecen muertos de miedo!
Son, Señor, como un sueño al despertar,
imágenes que olvidas al levantarte.
