Lo hemos escuchado con nuestros oídos, oh Dios;
nuestros padres nos han contado
lo que tú hiciste en sus días,
en los días del pasado.
Expulsaste naciones para asentarlos a ellos,
oprimiste a pueblos para que ellos crecieran.
No conquistaron la tierra con la espada
ni fue su brazo quien les dio la victoria;
fue tu diestra y tu brazo,
fue la luz de tu rostro
porque tú los amabas.
