La necedad divierte al insensato,
el inteligente camina con rectitud.
Cuando falta consejo fracasan los planes;
cuando abundan los consejeros, se cumplen.
Respuesta a tiempo causa alegría,
¡qué buena es la palabra oportuna!
El sensato asciende por sendas de vida,
así se libra de bajar al abismo.
El Señor derriba la casa del soberbio
y reafirma los linderos de la viuda.
El Señor aborrece los planes perversos
y le agradan las palabras sinceras.
Quien codicia en exceso arruina su casa,
quien rechaza el soborno vivirá.
