Si los hacía morir lo buscaban,
se arrepentían dirigiéndose a él;
recordaban que Dios era su refugio,
el Dios Altísimo su redentor.
Pero con su boca lo engañaban,
con su lengua le mentían;
su corazón no era sincero,
eran infieles a su alianza.
Él, misericordioso, perdonaba
su pecado y no los destruía;
su ira contenía una y otra vez,
no desplegaba todo su furor.
