7Disse Davi a Abiatarb, o sacerdote, filho de Aimeleque: Traze-me aqui a estola sacerdotal. E Abiatar a trouxe a Davi. 8Então, consultou Davi ao Senhor, dizendo: Perseguirei eu o bando? Alcançá-lo-ei? Respondeu-lhe o Senhor: Persegue-o, porque, de fato, o alcançarás e tudo libertarás. 9Partiu, pois, Davi, ele e os seiscentos homens que com ele se achavam, e chegaram ao ribeiro de Besor, onde os retardatários ficaram.
