53Then from that day forth bthey took counsel together for to put him to death. 54Jesus therefore cwalked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to dthe wilderness, into a city called eEphraim, and there continued with his disciples. 55And fthe Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many gwent out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, hto purify themselves. 56iThen sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast? 57Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
XII.Then aJesus six days before bthe passover came to cBethany, where dLazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 2There ethey made him a supper; and fgMartha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3Then took gMary ha pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and ianointed the feet of Jesus, and kwiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
