1 John 1:5–2:2

^5mThis then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that ⁿGod is light, and in him is no darkness at all. ^6oIf we say that we have fellowship with him, and ^pwalk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ⁷but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and ^qthe blood of ^rJesus Christ his Son ^scleanseth us from all sin. ^8tIf we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and ^uthe truth is not in us. ^9vIf we confess our sins, he is ^xfaithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to ^scleanse us from all unrighteousness. ^10yIf we say that we have not sinned, ^zwe make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

II.My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, ^awe have an ^badvocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: ²and ^che is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but ^dalso for the sins of the whole world.
