Hebrews 3:2–5
2who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house. 3For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house. 4For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God. 5And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken;
Hebrews 3:2–5 — The New International Version (NIV)
2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. 3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. 5 “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — English Standard Version (ESV)
2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. 3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,
Hebrews 3:2–5 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
Hebrews 3:2–5 — New Living Translation (NLT)
2 For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire house.
3 But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. 4 For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
5 Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward,
Hebrews 3:2–5 — New Century Version (NCV)
2 Jesus was faithful to God as Moses was in God’s family. 3 Jesus has more honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 Every house is built by someone, but the builder of everything is God himself. 5 Moses was faithful in God’s family as a servant, and he told what God would say in the future.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
2 who is faithful to him that has constituted him, as Moses also in all his house. 3 For he has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by how much he that has built it has more honour than the house. 4 For every house is built by some one; but he who has built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house, as a ministering servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken after;
Hebrews 3:2–5 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
2 Jesus is faithful to God, who appointed him, in the same way that Moses was faithful when he served in God’s house. 3 Jesus deserves more praise than Moses in the same way that the builder of a house is praised more than the house. 4 After all, every house has a builder, but the builder of everything is God.
5 Moses was a faithful servant in God’s household. He told ⸤the people⸥ what God would say in the future.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
2 He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was in all God’s household. 3 For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house. 4 Now every house is built by someone, but the One who built everything is God. 5 Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
2 was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses also “was faithful in all God’s house.” 3 Yet Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken later.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
2 who was faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses also was in his household. 3 For this one is considered worthy of greater glory than Moses, inasmuch as the one who builds it has greater honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but the one who built all things is God. 5 And Moses was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony to the things that would be spoken,
Hebrews 3:2–5 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
2 Moses was faithful in everything he did in the house of God. In the same way, Jesus was faithful to the One who appointed him.
3 The person who builds a house has greater honor than the house itself. In the same way, Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses. 4 Every house is built by someone. But God is the builder of everything.
5 Moses was faithful as one who serves in the house of God. He gave witness to what God would say in days to come.
Hebrews 3:2–5 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
2 He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.
3 For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.
4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
5 Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;
