٢٢ فَقَالَ صَمُوئِيلُ: «هَلْ مَسَرَّةُ الرَّبِّ بِالْمُحْرَقَاتِ وَالذَّبَائِحِ كَمَا بِاسْتِمَاعِ صَوْتِ الرَّبِّ؟ هُوَذَا الاسْتِمَاعُ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الذَّبِيحَةِ، وَالإِصْغَاءُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ شَحْمِ الْكِبَاشِ.
