Psalm 72

A Psalm ||*for Solomon.

Give the king thy judgments, O God,

*And athy righteousness unto bthe king’s son.

cHe shall judge thy people with righteousness,

And thy poor with judgment.

The dmountains shall bring epeace to the people,

And the dlittle hills, by erighteousness.

cHe shall judge the poor of the people,

He shall save the children of the needy,

And shall break in pieces the oppressor.

They shall fear thee fas long as the sun

And moon endure, throughout all generations.

gHe shall come down like rain upon hthe mown grass:

As ishowers that water the earth.

In his days kshall the righteous flourish;

And labundance of peace mso long as the moon endureth.

nHe shall have dominion also from sea to sea,

And from nthe river unto othe ends of the earth.

pThey that dwell in the wilderness shall ppbow before him;

And his enemies qshall lick the dust.

10  rThe kings of sTarshish and of tthe isles shall bring upresents:

The kings of xSheba and ySeba shall offer zgifts.

11  Yea, all kings ashall fall down before him:

All nations shall serve him.

12  For he shall deliver the needy bwhen he crieth;

The poor also, band him that hath no helper.

13  He shall spare the poor and needy,

And shall save the souls of the needy.

14  He shall redeem their soul from cdeceit and violence:

And dprecious shall their blood be in his sight.

15  And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of eSheba:

Prayer also shall be made ffor him continually;

And daily shall he be praised.

16  There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains;

The fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon:

gAnd hthey of the city ishall flourish klike grass of the earth.

17  His name shall endure for ever:

His name shall be continued as long as the sun:

And lmen shall be blessed in him:

mAll nations shall call him blessed.

18  tnBlessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,

Who oonly pdoeth wondrous things.

19  And blessed be qhis glorious name for ever:

rAnd let the whole earth be filled with his glory; sAmen, and Amen.

20  tThe uprayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
