Praise to God for His Salvation and Judgment
1 Praise 1the Lord!
aSing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise in the assembly of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their bKing.
3 cLet them praise His name with the dance;
Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For dthe Lord takes pleasure in His people;
eHe will beautify the 2humble with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them fsing aloud on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And ga two-edged sword in their hand,
7 To execute vengeance on the nations,
And punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 hTo execute on them the written judgment—
iThis honor have all His saints.
3Praise the Lord!

About The New King James VersionThe New King James Version is a total update of the 1611 King James Version, also known as the "Authorized Version." Every attempt has been made to maintain the beauty of the original version while updating the English grammar to contemporary style and usage. The result is much better "readability." It is noteworthy that the NKJV is one of the few modern translations still based on the "Western" or "Byzantine" manuscript tradition. This makes the New King James Version an invaluable aid to comparative English Bible study. |
