36 Elihu also proceeded, and said,

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee

That I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

I will fetch my aknowledge from afar,

And will ascribe righteousness to bmy Maker.

For truly my words shall not be false:

He that is cperfect in knowledge is with thee.

Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not dany:

He is emighty in strength and wisdom.

He preserveth not the life of the wicked:

But giveth right to the ||poor.

He fwithdraweth not his eyes from the righteous:

But with kings are they gon the throne;

Yea, he doth hestablish them for ever, and they are exalted.

And if they be ikbound in kfetters,

And be holden in cords of iaffliction;

Then he sheweth them their lwork,

And their transgressions that they mhave exceeded.

1 nHe openeth also their ear to discipline,

And commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11  oIf they obey and serve phim,

They shall qspend their days in prosperity,

And their years rin pleasures.

12  oBut if they obey not,

They shall perish by the sword,

And they shall die swithout knowledge.

13  But the hypocrites in heart theap up wrath:

They cry not when he ubindeth them.

14  xThey die in youth,

And their life is among the ||unclean.

15  He delivereth the ||poor in his affliction,

And nopeneth their ears in oppression.

16  Even so would he have yremoved thee out of the strait

Into zaa broad place, where there is no astraitness;

And bthat which should be set on cthy table should be full of dfatness.

17  But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked:

||Judgment and justice take hold on thee.

18  Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his estroke:

Then a great fransom cannot deliver thee.

19  Will he esteem thy griches? no, not gold,

Nor all hthe forces of strength.

20  iDesire not kthe night,

When people are lcut off min their place.

21  Take heed, nregard not iniquity:

For this hast thou ochosen rather than affliction.

22  Behold, God exalteth by his power:

pWho teacheth like him?

23  Who qhath enjoined him his way?

Or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

24  Remember that thou magnify his work,

Which rmen sbehold.

25  Every man may see it;

Man may behold it afar off.

26  Behold, God is great, and we tknow him not,

uNeither can the number of his years xbe searched out.

27  For he ymaketh small the drops of water:

They pour down rain according to zthe vapour thereof:

28  Which athe clouds do drop

And adistil upon man abundantly.

29  Also can any understand the bspreadings of the clouds,

Or the noise of his ctabernacle?

30  Behold, he spreadeth dhis light upon it,

And ecovereth the bottom of the sea.

31  For by them eejudgeth he the people;

He fgiveth meat gin abundance.

32  With clouds he covereth dthe light;

And commandeth it not to shine by the cloud hthat cometh betwixt.

33  iThe noise thereof sheweth concerning it,

The cattle also concerning the vapour.
