John MacEvilly’s exposition of the gospel of John offers a clear, Catholic, passage-by-passage interpretation of the text. He now prays for all the believers to the end of the world. “And not for them only,” the Apostles here present, “do I pray.” “But for them also who through their word,” and the words of truth uttered by their successors to the end of time, “shall believe in Me.” Our Lord here prays for the entire Church or the congregation of believers, to the end of time.
