Tamar, Daughter-in-Law of Judah (תמר‎, tmr; “date palm” or “palm tree”). Presumed Canaanite daughter-in-law of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob. Wife of Judah’s sons Er and Onan. Tamar was in the lineage of King David and Jesus Christ.
