Tahan (son of Ephraim)
Excerpt from the Lexham Bible Dictionary, the most advanced Bible dictionary.
Identified as the eponymous ancestor of the Ephraimite clan of Tahanites (Num 26:35). His relationship to Ephraim is not clear from Num 26:35. The heads of the Ephraimite clans could be direct sons of Ephraim, but clans could also be formed from the families of later descendants. The genealogy of Ephraim in 1 Chr 7:20 suggests Tahan could a descendant of Shuthelah, son of Ephraim if “Tahan” is a variation on “Tahath”.
