Ox
Excerpt from the Lexham Bible Dictionary, the most advanced Bible dictionary.
A name that appears in the genealogy of Judith as the grandfather of the book’s heroine (Judith 8:1). This Greek name does not appear to have a Semitic origin. However, it appears in some manuscripts as Oz, which may indicate that it is a corruption of the Hebrew name Uzzi, a common name in the Hebrew Bible. Uzzi, however, is never connected with the tribe of Simeon—the tribe to which Judith and Ox belong.
