Mezobaites
Mezobaites (מְצֹבְיָה‎, metsoveyah). A designation used for Jaasiel, one of David’s champions (1 Chr 11:47). The precise meaning of the term מְצֹבְיָה‎ (metsoveyah) is unknown, but it is likely a tribal designation; it could also refers to Jassiel’s hometown.

MEZOBAITE [Heb mĕṣōbāyâ (מְצֹבָיָה)]. An adjective used to describe Jaasiel, one of David’s champions; it describes a select class of warriors directly attached to the king for special assignments, named in the list of 1 Chr 11:10–47 (v 47), a list which, up to v 41a, parallels that of 2 Sam 23:8–39.
