METHUSHAEL (PERSON) [Heb mĕtûšāʾēl (מְתוּשָׁאֵל)]. Son of Mehujael and father of Lamech in the line of Cain (Gen 4:18). Comparisons with the genealogy of Seth in Genesis 5 have related Methushael with Methuselah (GHBW, 161–62). The difference between the names is limited to the final two consonants:
