Mephibosheth (son of Saul)
Excerpt from the Lexham Bible Dictionary, the most advanced Bible dictionary.
A son of Saul and Rizpah (2 Sam 21:8). David turned him over to the Gibeonites along with other sons of Saul so that they could be executed because of Saul’s attempt to wipe out the Gibeonites. The passage recounting the execution of Saul’s descendants in 2 Sam 21 is careful to distinguish this Mephibosheth from Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, whom David spared (2 Sam 21:7–8).
