Mahlon

Son of Naomi and the first husband of Ruth, who was a Moabite. Mahlon was from the tribe of Ephraim, whose family came to Moab from Bethlehem in Judah. Mahlon’s death, which makes Ruth a widow, sets up the story of the book of Ruth (Ruth 1:2, 5; 4:9–10).

Mahlon, Son of Elimelech
Mahlon, Son of Elimelech (מַחְלוֹן‎, machlon). Son of Naomi and the first husband of Ruth, who was a Moabite. Mahlon was from the tribe of Ephraim, whose family came to Moab from Bethlehem in Judah. Mahlon’s death, which makes Ruth a widow, sets up the story of the book of Ruth (Ruth 1:2, 5; 4:9–10).
