LOINCLOTH [אֵזוֹרʾezor, חֲגוֹרkhaghor]. A single piece of clothing worn around the waist, thighs, and genitals often accompanied with a BELT (Gen 3:7). A securely fastened loincloth signifies preparedness for physical activity such as battle (Isa 5:27). The term occurs eight times in Jer 13 as a metaphor
