LADAN (PERSON) [Heb laʿdān (לַעְדָּן)]. 1. A descendant of Ephraim and therefore a descendant of Joshua, the hero of the Conquest (1 Chr 7:26). Ladan is the son of Tahan and father of Ammihud. LIBNI (PERSON) [Heb libnı̂ (לִבְנִי)]. LIBNITE. 1. All evidence indicates that the Libnites were a levitic family from the territory of Judah. Their name is probably derived from the name of the Judahite town Libnah (the expected form would be *libnātı̂, but cf. yĕhûdâ-yĕhûdı̂, ṣārĕʿâ-ṣārĕʿı̂).
