Adam, Karl (1876–1966). Catholic theologian, part of a generation that worked toward the renewal of Roman Catholicism, and that turned out to be a forerunner of the Second Vatican Council (⇒Vatican II). The greater part of his career as a professor was spent in Tübingen, where he taught from 1919 to
