Jehiel, Father of Obadiah
Jehiel, Father of Obadiah (יְחִיאֵל‎, yechi'el). Jehiel appears in Ezra 8:9 as a descendant of Joab and father of Obadiah. There is some confusion with his name in the deuterocanonical 1 Esdras, where the name Jezelus is applied to both Jehiel’s name Ezra 8:9 (1 Esdras 8:35) and to Jahaziel from Ezra
Jezelus
Jezelus (יְחִיאֵל‎, yechi'el). A name used for the father of Obadiah and Shecaniah in the deuterocanonical parallels of Ezra 8 (1 Esdras 8:32; 8:35). In Ezra 8:5, Jezelus is Jahaziel; in Ezra 8:9, Jehiel. These names appear in the lists of exiles returning from the Babylonian exile.
