Jacan, Son of Abihail (יַעְכָּן‎, ya'kan). A descendant of Gad through Abihail of Bashan (1 Chr 5:13).

JACAN (PERSON) [Heb yaʿkān (יַעְכָּן)]. A Gadite, who was a son of Abihail and one of seven kinsmen, who are named alongside four (or three; see SHAPHAT) tribal leaders (1 Chr 5:13). According to 1 Chronicles 5, Jacan and his kinsmen lived opposite the Reubenites in “Bashan as far as Salecah” (v 11)
