Jabal, Son of Lamech
Jabal, Son of Lamech (יָבָל‎, yaval). A descendant of Cain. Jabal is described as the ancestor of nomads and keepers of livestock (Gen 4:20).

Jabal is described as the father of tent dwellers and herds (Heb miqneh; for the more general meaning, “possessions,” cf. below). It is not clear from the sentence construction (4:20)
