Jaasiel the Warrior (יַעֲשִׂיאֵל‎, ya'asi'el). One of David’s mighty men (1 Chr 11:47). Jaasiel is described as “the Mezobaite” (מְצֹבְיָה‎, metsoveyah); the meaning of this designation is unknown.

Jaasiel jāʹā-zə-əl [Heb. yaʿaśîʾēl—‘God makes’ (?)]; AV JASIEL. In 1 Ch. 11:47, a Mezobaite, one of David’s mighty men, probably the same as “the son of Abner” in 1 Ch. 27:21, a Benjaminite tribal prince of David.
