IZHARITES, IZEHARITES. The descendants of Izhar, son of Kohath and the father of Korah (Num 3:27; 1 Chr 24:22; 26:23, 29). These Levites during the reign of David helped to supervise the treasures of the tabernacle (1 Chr 26:23), and some also served as “officers and judges” (1 Chr 26:29).
