Ithrites
Ithrites (יִתְרִי‎, yithriy). A clan living close to Kiriath-Jearim from which two of David’s mighty men originated (2 Sam 23:38; 1 Chr 2:53; 11:40).

Ithrite
ITHRITE [Heb hayyitrı̂ (הַיִּתְרִי)]. A gentilic adjective describing the clan or tribe of two of David’s distinguished warriors (2 Sam 23:38 = 1 Chr 11:40). The names of the soldiers were Ira and Gareb. The Ithrite clan, located near Kiriath-Jearim, was associated with the lineage of Caleb (1 Chr 2:53).
