Indictment
Indictment[Heb sēp̱er] (Job 31:35); AV BOOK; [rîḇ] (Jer. 25:31; Hos. 12:2 [MT 3]); AV CONTROVERSY; NEB CHARGE. The term sēp̱er refers to a written charge brought against someone. Rîḇ refers to a legal case brought by Yahweh against the nations which had offended Him.

INDICTMENT
INDICTMENT [רִיבriv]. Several OT passages envision Yahweh pressing an indictment or complaint (siakh שִׂיחַ) against Israel (notably Isa 1:2–3; Jer 2:4–13; Hos 4:1; 12:2–3; Mic 6:1–8), or even against the nations (Jer 25:31). Job reverses this pattern, desiring to see his accuser’s indictment in writing
