Ahitub (uh-hi´tuhb).1 A son of Phinehas (and grandson of Eli) who was the father of Ahijah (1 Sam. 14:3) and Ahimelech (22:9, 11–12, 20).2 The son of Amariah who was either the father of Zadok (2 Sam. 8:17; 1 Chron. 6:8, 12, 52–53; 18:16; Ezra 7:2) or the grandfather of Zadok (1 Chron. 9:11; Neh. 11:11).
