Hosah hōʹsə [Heb. ḥōsâ]. One of the sons of Merari. He, his sons, and his brothers became responsible for the posting of guards at the west gate of Shallecheth (1 Ch. 26:10–19). He had previously been one of the gatekeepers in the tent of the ark when David brought the ark to Jerusalem (1 Ch. 16:37f.).
