Hori, Son of Lotan
Hori, Son of Lotan (חֹרִי‎, choriy). An Edomite and descendant of Seir the Horite (Gen 36:22; 1 Chr 1:39; compare Gen 36:29–30). The name חֹרִי‎ (choriy) is the same word as the one translated as “Horite” (חֹרִי‎, choriy) in the title of Seir.

HORI (PERSON) [Heb ḥōrı̂ (חֹרִי‎); ḥôrı̂ (חֹורִי‎)]. 1. A son of LOTAN (Gen 36:22; 1 Chr 1:39) and grandson of “Seir, the Horite.” See also HORITES. In at least one other case, the genealogy of Gen 36:20–28 seems to have entered the same “individual” twice (see DISHAN) without recognizing the identity.
