This phrase is used by the ASV and RSV to render Hebrew hadĕrat-qōdeš in four passages (1 Chr. 16:29; 2 Chr. 20:21; Ps. 29:2; 96:9; KJV, “the beauty of holiness”; NIV, “the splendor of his holiness”; NRSV, “holy splendor”).
