hatchets. Possible rendering of Hebrew kêlappôt H3965, with reference to an implement, perhaps a type of crowbar, used by the enemy in smashing the engraved wood of the temple (Ps. 74:6; NRSV renders “hammers,” but uses “hatchets” [NIV, “axes”] for the accompanying term, kaššîl H4172).
